Ethics
Ethics or moral philosophy is a branch of philosophy that involves systematizing, defending, and recommending concepts of right and wrong conduct. The term ethics derives from Ancient Greek ἠθικός (ethikos), from ἦθος (ethos), meaning 'habit, custom'. The branch of philosophy axiology comprises the sub-branches of ethics and aesthetics, each concerned with values.
Life
Life is a characteristic that distinguishes physical entities that do have biological processes, such as signaling and self-sustaining processes, from those that do not, either because such functions have ceased, or because they never had such functions and are classified as inanimate. Various forms of life exist, such as plants, animals, fungi, protists, archaea, and bacteria. The criteria can at times be ambiguous and may or may not define viruses, viroids, or potential synthetic life as "living". Biology is the science concerned with the study of life.
Healthcare
It's playing with people's lives, like you were playing a slot machine. [...] I love slot machines, but I don't like Russian roulette.
Patient Jina Luther on Tennessee's "Standard Spend Down" healthcare lottery, The Daily Show, June 5, 2013.
Ethics
The World and Life are one. Physiological life is of course not "Life". And neither is psychological life. Life is the world.
Ethics does not treat of the world. Ethics must be a condition of the world, like logic.
Ethics and Aesthetics are one.
Ludwig Wittgenstein, in Journal entry (24 July 1916), p. 77e, Notebooks 1914-1916, as translated by Gertrude Elizabeth Margaret Anscombe, first edition (1961), Second edition (1984)
Life
Life is an urge of the Universe to understand itself.
